A dwelling places contemporary, traditional, color-drenching palette design to invoke a young family at Kovoor, Calicut. This design brings to mid-century modern, vintage Indian with seamless texture with the idea of creating a home for functionality & unique identities for the user.
The design process focused on creating a clever understanding of functional needs twined elemental hint with user's personalities. The interiors are conceptualized and visualized with geometric, form and function that suits each other. Placement of openings merges with the exterior connecting landscape that shows flow of elements each other, this creates continuity and a rhythm everywhere. Adaptability of light and color play an integral role in drag out the aura of residence.
The adhesive and intimate spaces of 3000 sq.ft residence is Jaisalmer granite carpeted with detailed element of highlighter plug in at certain intervals, in which the highlighter dominates with a theme of "kolam" traditional pattern, and basic-shaped miniatures in between which is infused with wall decor style of "murals" all around. As moves through varying zones of home, the walls are play up by wooden décor blending with the flooring adds a visual treat in the spaces.
Northern façade apertures invites diffused light to the living interiors hosted with traditional wooden upholsteries with beigish walls and ceiling décor of square detail holding warm luminance. A short passage linearly connects the bedroom space as its wings, designed with a sense of repose and comfort reflecting the user's behavior and age group. The closets are embedded with the elements of tropical art pattern in the wooden texture compute for a great segue to design narrative.
The kitchen has been embellished with a custom fabricated iron plates, coated with greenish tint serving as a partition accentuate as small table top to serve. On the other side, the set of stairs with metallic handrails and a compact partition of storage carries to the next level welcomes with an overlooking greenish lush indoor landscaped study area that show off with an industrial interior look and coming to the private segment master bedroom occupies heirloom furniture with authentic Kerala traditional fusion outlook. The core essence of the project lies in the ingenuity of the material used and design approach of minimal and stylish grammar.
