A soulful habitat of 2400 sq. Ft that symbolizes the core principle of a stronghold in module and volumetric exploration, to deliver an output with qualities of a rustic, authentic, contemporary style structure proudly rooted in the lush tropical context of Kottayam. It serves as a vacation home for a young, small family, nestled within a plot of land near their ancestral home, allowing them to engage with their family while visiting their native place.

The design features an open-plan layout that connects every corner of the house with minimal interior walls, making use of large openings to flood the space with natural sunlight and fresh air. The entrance leads to the living space, which is open to the nearby modular kitchen. This space seamlessly merges with the inside-out patio, accessed through folding doors from the living area, serving as a connecting link to the ancestral home entrance. These interconnected volumes create a spacious gathering space for the family and guests, forming the public domain of the residence.

Continuing through the home, will reach the private domain, with the master bedroom. Following the client's request, the washrooms are not attached to the bedrooms. At the end of the veranda, the washroom is located, where in between the veranda separated by shutter doors that open to front patio which serving as a family living opens to outdoor space. On the other side opens to back courtyard offering a lush landscape and an open shower area covered with semi-portioned wall. This space serves as the core of the house, providing a peaceful and comfortable zone for the residents which visually connected with private domain. The living offers the contrast interiors with bright colours and minimal style.

The stair area features a concealed straight stair, with a nearby lift, leading to the first floor. Here, a module is lifted up on the eastern side of the structure, allowing the morning sun to filter into the bedroom.
The design intent focuses on providing an organic and honest response to the site conditions, allowing the natural landscape to blend seamlessly with the rustic aesthetic. On a windy day, the delicate leaves within the built structure soften its straight geometry, creating a welcoming atmosphere in the home.
